Sunday morning we played West Herts, in our weather delayed B fixture from earlier in the season.
Upon losing the toss we were asked to bat, in what once again looked an ideal day for batting at Cobden Hill. After a solid start we lost Adi (7), with him short of his ground attempting a second run. Arihant (14) headed back to pavilion perishing in the same manner and whilst Harry and Rohan N (21) battled hard, with Rohan finding the boundary on four occasions, the West Herts bowlers never allowed us the freedom to go through the gears. Ethan (4) fell desperately trying to force the pace and when Nimay (7) became our third run out victim it was left to Dylan K (10*) and Harry (21*) to squeeze as many runs as possible. 113-5 the end score, which did feel 15-20 runs too light.
Ben (0-8) bowled a tidy opening spell, but Radlett were never able to exert any sort of intense pressure as West Herts proved too strong. Our fielding was not as clean as it could have been and our opponents had little difficult in surpassing our total. The only success came from Rohan N, who deservedly finished with smart looking figures of 1-3. A disappointing way to finish our ‘B’ campaign, but we can have no complaints as we were beaten by a better side.
M.O.M. It goes to Rohan, he got his head down batting and was the claimant of our solitary wicket
