A COLD NORTH WIND BLEW ACROSS COBDEN HILL to send the pulse rate up during a low scoring thriller

Arriving at Cobden Hill I note 10 cricketers training and as I set up the scorebaord the first thing I do is turn on the heater. If it was cold for me what must the players have felt like.

Stevenage have travelled down the A! and we know they are a strong club and as we have said before to play mostly 1st teams shows how well this 2nd team has done.
Rahil being a good tosser wins the calls and decides to bat and then telle me that Tom Palmer has fallen off a kerb and damaged his leg and is thus unable to exact revenge against his former club. Faz has a tendon injury and can only field.

Tej and NElson walk to the crease and Tej in particular is brutal against anything short which just sits up and soon we are 20 for 0. Nicky then gets caught at slip by the enormous hands of Davies and Krish falls to an absolute blinder of a catch by Carr. Start the Carr as Krish walks gingerly off the pitch looking like paddles from the Australian cricket when they get 0!!
Skipper Rahil promoting himself to 4 with Malde N, missing in action, bats very well and Tej unluckily gets a very thin edge to a haf tracker and it goes to deep backward square leg and is caught. 33-3. Uh oh looks like a Radlett collapse
Rhys Kanbi enters the fray and plays one sumptious drive and is out when the sound of wood resonates across Cobden Hill to everywhere but the umpires ears and its 44-4. At Home joins S Kipper and they bat very well and run not so well together but they look very comfortable and gradually ease the score up to 100 but disaster as Dan is lbw to Anil.
Abhijay comes in and hits 2 sumptious 4s and then decides he is tired and is caught in the deep off a horrible delivery that he could have hot anywhere and did as he finds the gleeful hands of Chapman. Aadit comes and goes and after he has AADIT Sokol comes and goes and with Tom not fit thats it folks. 121 all out

Observations it looks a tricky wicket but if you bowl short it will sit up and can be hit.

After a tea sponsored by, TEsco. Waitrose, Asda, The local shop, Pizza Express, Morrisons anywhere but Radlett CC (Like in te old days and how it should be) RCC take to the field with a swagger and whilst 122 to win looks easy its going to be hard on a soft track offering movement.

Tyler and Rahman start off fast and Tyler wants to hit everything to leg and is bowled by Sokol who again impressed, with the ball. Rahman and Chapman make batting look easy as they look at the run rate and dont care. Rahil changes the bowlers regularly and soon settles into a lovely rythym and Aadit and Krish are assisting Raz.81 for 1 becomes 82-2 88 for 3 94 for 4 as Liversidge is caught and bowled by S Kipper. A chance maybe but oh no Davies edges his side close and then Chip returns to Fry him with a cracker.
Yandlepally and ANil see it through in the 42 over.

If we had scored 150 we would have won, if we have 11 batsmen wew would have won, if we had an extra bowler we would have won.

Overall a good effort which gets 7 npoints but promised more.

Next week Harpenden.
