Chorleywood were the visitors on Thursday evening for our latest B match. We put in a mixed performance but, ultimately, we came out of the game as victors.
We fell back into inconsistent mode with the bat, losing quick wickets up top, although in amongst the carnage, Aryan, again showed his class, by racing to retirement (26*) having faced a mere 10 balls. Within that he registered 3 fours and 2 sixes, fine play Arya! Encouragingly, Adi demonstrated he has rediscovered his batting form, as he nursed the tail with a smartly made 24, and in the end his undoing was trying not to reach 25 before the ninth wicket fell (no retirements apply for the 10th wicket)! At the death it was left to Ben and Lucas to scramble what would prove to be a vital few runs for us to close on 119.
Our total looked a bit thin, however full credit to the boys as they bowled with relative control and backed this up in the field. Wickets were taken regularly to ensure the opposition could not gain the upper hand and our disciplined bowling at the end of the innings ensured a narrow victory by 9 runs. Wickets were well spread, Ben (1-6) bowled a decent opening spell, Adi added value with ball as well as the bat, finishing with impressive figures of 3-1-8-2, and as did Aryan (3-1-17-2). The other wicket takes were Rohan (1-7), Luke H (1-21) and Zach (1-9), with catches taken by Adi, Dylan K & Zach. Back to back wins, well done Radlett!
M.O.M. Very close call between Adi and Aryan, and on this occasion it goes to Adi
