It was a trip to Bushey for the B team on Sunday.
After taking the field, it was Lucas (2-0-6-1) who was quick into the action bowling a beauty to knock over their opener. Like against West Herts, we were not allowing Bushey to get away from us, however when we look back on this game it is our extras count of 43 which will cause us the most pain. A final total of 142-4 was decent but not game defining. Other than Lucas, Eeswar (1-11) was in the wickets again, and Nimay (1-19) and Dylan K (1-7), nursing a troublesome hamstring, picked up the others. Dylan J took an excellent catch, as did Patrick.
We needed a chest puffed out start to the chase, however, we never got into our stride, as wickets fell regularly and when we needed to up the tempo we were guilty of not pressing the accelerator. Ayaan (20) was our mainstay and whilst our lower order showed the urgency needed with their running between the wickets, it was too little too late. Coby (8), run out off the last ball of the innings, and Eeswar (6) raised the spirits in an entertaining last wicket stand which swelled our final score to 108.
M.O.M. Ayaan top scored with the bat, however it was Lucas’s bowling that caught the eye, along with the intent he showed when batting, which gives him the award today
