Match report THE GAME OF THE WILTING ROSE BUT THE FLOWERING SHOVAKAR
On a blisteringly hot day at the beautiful setting of Berkhamstead Cricket Club (pity about all the bikes spoiling it), Matt wins the toss and inserts Berkhamstead. Koby strides to the pitch but he is playing as a specialist Fielder so Suhaan opens the bowling with Ross and soon has Friend in the hut. Preedy and Doe are finding it tough going and soon Suhaan has Preedy LBW.
Michael Lee joins in thre fun and snares Doe caught by Rose. Todd and Frey started to play well and and it was the returning Troy who got Todd with a good return catch. Suhaan had bowled his 10 overs for 13 runs of which 7 came in his first over. He bowled beautifully and showed he belongs at this level.
At this stage Berkhamstead started to increase the ante knowing how to bat on the slope and Bartholemew, Sproul and young Jomegol hit the ball very hard.
Troy bowled well but was expensive and Rahil deserved better than his figures and Rhys and Suhaan were exceptional in the field. Troy took some good catches and Delon ended the innings bowling Bell.
Highlight of the innings was a penalty run 5 beig wrongly called by the umpire (his only mistake )
214 looked slightly under par but the slope would play into Berko's hands.

After a lovely tea sponsored by Suhaan's Dad, we start our reply and Tewj and Matt are stifled in the reply and are not as fluent as normal until Tej is bowled by the nagging Baring. We could not get going against a good pace attack and the I was really impressed by the 15 year old Jomegol. I understand he may have to leave Berkhamstead and I hope it can be sorted as he looks a real talent.
Troy and Rahil, batted well and James Triple Threat looks like he could make his way into the side.

We lost but there was a feeling of if we had done this better then. Onwards and upwards.

Man of the Match Suhaan

Dick of the Day Me again getting the scoreboard wrong
