Match report THE GAME OF THE WILTING ROSE WHO LETT ABBOTTS OFF THE HOOK

On a blisteringly hot day at Cobden Hill Matt wins the toss and BATS!!! This is not MATBALL cricket as we know it.
Matt and Tej open up against a side we have not played for a few years and set off like a steam train. 5 overs in its 49 for 0. Burgess and Dunstone then calm down the scoring until Tej plays at one and is given out caught off his pad for a jug avoiding 45 made in very quick time.
Freddie joins Matt and the 100 is brought up in the 16th over. A big score looks on the cards.
What happens next is pure 2s cricket
freddie is out to England over 50 bowler Matt Dunstone with a good slip catch and 3 balls later Delon is heading back to the shed having been Lett down b y a bad rose call and some poor running
Matt and Suhaan try to take the attack back to Abbotts but Purohit is bowling an inspired spell of left arm spin and is going through is like a hot knife through butter. 146 for 4 when Suhaan is out for an entertaining 20 and matt troy and Rueben follow. Rohan hits some lust blows and Purohit hits 3 of us in the 47th over with the wickets of Michael Lee Ross Carpenter and Koby Cornwell.

205 all out is about 100 shy of where we should have been.

A stunning tea is taken (oh bring it back) and we set to work in the field.
Abbotts are a strong side and are not top of the table for nothing.
Ross and the returning KOBY open up and we get the start we need as Ross traps khan and we are bowling superbly as we get regular wickets as Rohan @the Wizz and Troy get 2 wickets each and we are chipping away and keeping it tight.

However bots skipper Gurney Burgess and ALlan eventyally see Abbotts tbrough with 3 overs to spare. What would have happened had we used our 50 overs is open to debate.

We need to be harder again and have a better availability.

I am left with a feeling of what might have been.
