On a windy day the parents cabs and prams made their way to Hertford with a side made up of

Time to unleash these incredibly talented boys onto the Herts league

Stand in skipper Tej lost the toss and Abhay and Tom opened up against 16 year old Flynn Ruskin and Beardsley. 2 very good bowlers in their different ways and Abhay was belligerent but Tom couldn't get going in his own way and went for 3 at 16 for 1.
Alex played one sublime cover drive before Abhay having smashed a huge 6 hoiked Ruskin to mid on and perished. Alex soon followed beaten by Ruskin and Abhijay was caught behind in slightly controversial fashion as he didnt hit it.
Tej and Craig (TPSr) making his 2nd team debut scored the first run by a Steven-Jennings in the 2s and they slowly but carefully brought the game forward until he was brilliantly caught by wicket keeper Lyte for a very good 17 in a partnership worth 49. The talented Prabs joined Tej and as they grew in confidence the score started to rattle along and Tej reached 50 and it was a shock when he fell for an excellent 74. Rhys was undone by the experienced Cordingley and Prabs fell for a super 39 of 66 and it was left to the younger Triple Threats to lead us to 221 for 9 after 50.

A fine tea in the new clubhouse was enjoyed and we went to field to defend 221.
The 30 year old (between them opening partnership of Kobi and DSJ opened up against 2 good young Hertford boys. Hertford have been hit by 4 1st team players leaving for various reasons and some second team players not being around, They like us have a fantastic colts section although I was told they do not have an under 15s this year. Sam Read fell to a classic outswinger from DSJ taken by Tom. This brought Hugh Reid to the crease and he looks a real quality cricketer. Chandler and Ives fell to Rhys (his first wickets) and Rhys has bowled better without reward but deserved these wickets.
66 for 4 became 107for 5 when Abhijay got a deserved wicket of Tom Orchard. Cordingley attacked and was fabulously stumped by Tom off Abhay (Tejs gamble). Meanwhile Reid was playing fabulous cricket, the boys in the field were superb none more so that Triple Threat jr jr and Alex.

DSJ camje back and got Ruskin Prabs snared Lyte and Murphy was run out by JSJ. Last over 12 needed 5 scored and Radlett sneak home by 6
