Match report
THE GAME OF THE HOME FROM HOME
We welcomed our friends from Flitwick to our outground at Haberdasher Askes School for Gentlemen as our main ground has been sold for shekels to Middlesex who wouldn't let us play on it.
As the sun shines down on this picturesque area (see Nisha's pictures) skipper Rose wins a toss and inserts Flitwick who are bottom but we know have some excellent players.
The burgeoning opening bowling partnership of Ross Chip Chippy Roscoe Fish Fishy Carps Carpenter and Kobi My mum likes Bryant Cornwell get to work in mean style with Kobi again getting on the board early with a ripper to out the determined dogged Umlauf and the score is 2 for 1. Ross was mean and it was a shock when Davies hit him for a 4 but revenge was sweet as Chippy gets one into the pads of Davies and the umpires finger is up before the appeal. Speaking after the game Davies said he gave it out as well.
The Pitkin brothers slowly rebuilt the innings albeit slowly until Sam was undone by our returning Triple threat Daniel Steven Jennings at 44 for 3. We dint take the cluster of wickets this time but bowled well and fielded superbly other than Geoffrey letting one spin past him!!
Geoffrey came on and bowled 10m overs for 25 and got the important wicket of Matt Gurney who we know can be destructive for 12.
Yash under 17 couldnt get his rhythm and Rosey decided to introduce himself. Hello I am Matthew Rose. I have a white board and coloured pens but i am leaving early tonight!!!
Peters fell to Matt for 12 at 102 for 5 and wickets the fell regularly with Triple threat getting their two hard hitting all rounders. Tej was dynamite in the field with 2 outstanding catches (moved 11 inches aggregate for both) and Ross came back to nipout 8 and 9 and Koby smashed the stumps of Pitkin T who faced 104 balls for his 49.
159 remember that number
I restarted the innings on the scorepad but it still said 159 on the left hand side all game!!!!
After a poor effort of a tea we resumed and attacked as we have in the last few weeks with Matt and Tej opening up. Tej was outscoring Rosey until matt sensed his evening dinner would be ruined and he smote 4 after 4 getting to his 50 before Tej in 78 balls Tej took 66 and the surprise was Tej was LBW to Peters. This brough the Home from Home Will Wright to the crease and he and Matt wated no time seeing us home by 9 wickets at 5.19. WHen i left the scorebox at 5.30 not a soul was seen and when I got Radlett my beer was not waiting on the table . Poor form guys
An easy win against traditionally difficult opponents but this team ha confidence at the moment.
Am upset that so many are going to be missing next week but chances for the returning boys to show what they are capable off. Could be the youngest fast bowling attack ever see with Kobi DSJ Rhys all vying for places. If Deadly Zeddey plays he gives these boys 16 years on his own!!!!
MoM A hat trick for Matt Rose
TFC Self awarded to the disappearing Neel Malde
Next week Hertford away. Hertford are wounded animals and they fight like hell. A proud club like us and we need to have our A game with us
Have agood week all
