Radlett CC Won by 7 wickets

Match report THE GAME OF THE FA CUP FINAL
We welcomed our good friends from Northchurch to a glorious Cobden Hill with the sun shining and the Radlett Road looking good even after a 4 day game having being played on it.
Once again the 2’s had to dip into the embryo pool as Abishay and Abhay missing but Jasdeep had managed to hitch a ride from Bombay and arrived at the ground in time. Dev however took the full wrath of the team and laid the blame fairly at Mum for pottering around whilst he wanted to get to cricket!!!
The toss occurred with One Umpire again (Gents lack OF Umpires is not helping) and Northchurch called correctly and wanted 1st dig
The Old and the Young are to open the attack but Ross gets choice of ends and we know Northcjurch are a good side but have lost possibly their 2 main stars Tom Garraway who has joined Old Elizabethans and Darren James who has moved to Hemel with his lad. A good opening spell from Ross and Koby and suddenly Koby finds the edge of Living’s bat with an inducker and Jonny takes a good catch behind. At fines I am advised it was LBW but its staying in the book. What follows is carnage as 15 – 1 becomes 15-5 with Randall, Jo James and Hobley all clean bowled and Thorpe nudging it behind to Tij. Johnson and Ali Fantham try to rebuild but Geoffrey begins his burglaries with Ju James giving catching practice t Matt and only R Patel who wss batting far too low at 9 but we found out later he has just recovered from 2 ACL’s.
Koby takes 4
Ross takes 3
Geoffrey burgled 3 and Northchurch are 90 all out
A very good bowling performance and a good fielding performance, with a little bit of luck going our way.
A phenomenal tea was enjoyed by all and Alex strode to the wicket with Tej back from Honeymoon bliss.
Alex and Tej get in the mood with some uncharacteristically poor bowling from Northchurch and Alex is belligerent and quickly brings up the 50 with Tej. Hobley comes on to bowl his fast off spin and Alex is bowled at 51 and next ball of the next over Tej departs and Matt comes in and out. Johnny being Johnny comes in and strikes the ball well and Neel is majestic as they see Radlett to a 7 wicket win.
2 out of 2
The kids are impressing and when players come back they may not get an automatic place back. We need some consistency to get out of this division.
A good result but onto harder things next week at Northwood where no doubt Neeru and Reeve and Sharples together with their good youngsters will be anticipating another double over Radlett.
