Match report After last week's disaster where the 2s threw away a game that they should have won I have just witnessed one of the best team performances for many a year.
Radlett 11 made their 3rd journey in a row to North Hertfordshire in the Hertford area to play top of the division and unbeaten Hoddesdon.
What followed was the most amazing TEAM performance where every player did something to help. 3 debutantes in Dan Steven Jennings, Tom Fielden and Abhijay saw a team with 6 under 16s Abhay at 19 a senior player and Tej, Troy. Jas and Nick.
Hoddesdon put Tejs's embryos in to bat and to face 1st team bowler Varner.
First ball of the game Abhay smashes for 4 the stage is set. Despite losing Abhay, Geoffrey and Tej early Yash and the returning Gun Nick Fielden steadied the ship and gradually picked up the pace f scoring. Yash fell for a well made 41 and Alex Liddell thought he was Ian Botham with a massive 6 or 2 and the energy we gained from that was palpable as the scoring rate rose each over. Alex's departure brought in Tom Young Gun Fielden to bat with his Dad and he ran and ran and batted very well for his 21.
Nick nd Tom fell but this allowed Abhijay and Troy to smash a tiring attack with Troy brutal in the last over hitting Blemkin for 20.
258 for 7 by far and away our best score of the season but could we defend this with only 2 2nd team bowlers and Hoddesdon top of the table.

What followed was a controlled spell of bowling from all bowlers some amazing fielding from the boys. JAs opened and was as tight as Shane Warne and Dan SJ at the other end was good and became quicker throughout his spell and bowled Blemkin early. Samir bowling quickly and thinking accounted for the dangerous Angellini and when Troy bowled Captain Sturdy with the score on 72 we realised we were in the game.
Tej handled his bowling changes well and the youngsters chased every ball with one piece of fielding from Dan SJ saving 2 runs but deflating Hoddesdons players directly behind him.
Abhijay bowled beautifully and was helped by a Billy the FIsh style catch from Nick at slip.
Wickets fell regularly and it was left to Geoffrey to wrap it up with 2 wickets in the 48th over.

Man of the Match is so hard - Nick deserves a mention Troy deserves a mention but I am going to be a bowling adjudicator and give it to Dan SJ (You need to shorten the name) for hi outstanding bowling and getting their best 2 bats. Its a very difficult decision

Onwards and upwards and it will be brave man to change this winning side next week with the returning 100
