Match report Radlett 3s moved up from bottom of the table, to avoid relegation by 4 points, courtesy of Old Cholmeleans' willingness to play enough overs, in miserable conditions, to constitute a completed match.

Rain was an absolute certainty at some point in the afternoon and Nick Fielden inserted the opposition in the hope they could be bowled out quickly. Things were going well with OCs 75-4 after 18 overs, but a 157-run 5th wicket partnership changed the shape of the match.

The Radlett reply started in drizzle, but Radlett had a clear plan to ensure they would have at least 101 on the board if 20 overs could be completed. Rob Bee and Freddie Wright batted freely, and when the former was bowled for 20, Shon Alisha hit a rapid 22 to ensure that, when play was halted after 13 overs, the total was a healthy 74.

The rain fell for nearly an hour-and-a-half, but once the heaviest rain had abated, OCs were game enough to return to the field and continue a match that was now reduced to 24 overs, meaning Radlett needed 120. Nick Fielden was immediately adjudged lbw, but Abhay Hirani was striking the ball beautifully and, together with the more sedate David Robinson, saw the total to 121 after 21 overs, giving Radlett a sweet victory.
