I started playing cricket when I was 7 years old and moved to Radlett. Since then it's been my main sport, playing through 1st XI at school (HABS), Radlett and Herts County Colts. I have played in a few countries/ iconic grounds in the past - Malaysia, South Africa, Devon and Ipswich to name a few...
I made my debut for the 2nd XI in 2012 and 6 years on, decided to give captaincy a go.
Always have been a top order left handed batsmen and I used to hoop it in with the ball. Now I stay off bowling in-duckers and only call upon myself as a last resort!
Full Name: Tej Malde
AKA: Jet Malad
Away from the cricket field you are: Deals consultant - aka work in spreadsheets
How long have you been at RCC: 18 years
Best memory at RCC: Scoring a ton on the top pitch, and winning the Dunstable U12 tournament in the final over as skipper (probably a better skipper back then)
Who has the most to offer inside the changing room:
Cricket knowledge: Michael Lee/ Duncan Fraser - the cricket badgers
Energy: Troy Barrett- looks like he should be on a Duracell commercial
Bantersaur: TBC (definitely not Neel Malde) - lot of new faces this year, looking to impress with bat, ball and banter.
Hopes for the 2018 Season:
- Get promoted
- we bat for +200 as a team on minimum 3 occasions
- Someone (myself included in that) gets a ton
- Having a good time together for beerios post match
Most Admirable Cricketer: Virat Kohli - excretes runs, relentless determination to win and an Indian cricketer that focuses on fitness/fielding for a change!
Any pre-match rituals or superstitions:
1. Need to have a Breakfast of Champions - Oats so simple, banana and peanut butter.
2. Have to do a bit of gardening on the pitch before I face a ball - who wouldn’t?
