To all members.
We are close to fixing a date for our 2020 AGM, and there is plenty for us on which to give you an update when the date is agreed..
For now, we need to draw your attention to an important matter.
We have been aware since December that Radlett are likely to be asked to host some of the Middlesex home fixtures in the Royal London 50 over Cup, dependent on Covid and other issues.
However, yesterday morning we learnt that Middlesex would like us to host all the white ball home matches which would mean 4 days of 50-over and 3 days of 20-over matches. The last 24 hours have been busy as we have been looking at the implications to us for our own cricket in terms of ground usage for senior and junior cricket, dates, weekends, and nets usage, with the experience of last year playing heavily in our considerations.
Tomorrow morning the 1st Class county fixtures for red and white ball cricket will be announced, after which we will be able to start the planning for the work required to make this happen to the benefit of both Radlett and Middlesex.
All of this is, of course, dependent on the guidelines and/or restrictions in place as the vaccinations continue, the pandemic hopefully recedes, and we are allowed to start our season.
A further news item will be prepared next week.
