Radlett CC Sunday III v Great Gaddesdon on Sun 05 Jul 2009 at 1.30 p.m.
Radlett CC Won by 216 runs

Match report This was our third Chess Valley match of the season and our youngsters’ achieved a comprehensive victory. The oldest players are Kailash Morjaria and Shamit Nathwani, both just 19 and they jointly captained this team of great potential. It is good to see that potential being realized with classy performances with bat and ball backed up by fantastic fielding.
We chose to bat and post a score on another hot, sapping day. Shamit and Reece Egerton opened up with a 40 run partnership in the first 10 overs, Wheeler swinging the ball for Great Gaddesdon, and beating the bat on a few occasions, early on. Shamit fell trying to push the score along and Rikin Shah edged one to the keeper and we were 54/2. Enter Kailash Morjaria who soon had the field retreating. He put on a 60 run partnership with Reece(32) who was starting to get a bit becalmed and eventually fell with the score on 116.Toiday all our middle order were firing, Kailash unlucky to be adjudged caufght for 45, ably assisted by an aggressive Luca Guerrini(34). Ben Charles played himself in and reached 34 and brother Josh ran well, giving the strike to a rampant Hardain Nahandra.Hardain managed to lose 4 ball before we called it a day 2 balls early with a mammoth 271 on the scoreboard. Once again we had scored 100 runs in the final 10 overs of an innings to put the match out of reach.
Our bowling attack of Phil Simmons and Oliver Jackson then proved to be just as menacing and, once the opener fell with the score on 22, their was a steady procession of wickets. Ben Charles initially stood up to Ollie but soon realized he had to stand back. Phil took 4 and Olllie 2 wickets. Rikin Shah bowled just the one over due to a back injury and took 2 wickets for none. Our fielding was top notch led by Kailash who had a run out and led by example. Great Gaddesdon were all out for 55.
This match shows that we do have some very good younger players who hopefully will also play Saturday league matches to help turn round the season for our lower teams.
If we can keep this nucleus of players and they continue to perform we are in with a shout of winning this league, but there are some other quality teams we will have to beat.
