Match report On a lovely Summers day at Cobden Hill Radlett lost the toss and were asked to bat first.

Felix Walker, a remarkable comeback story returned to fulfill his spot in the first team and open the batting after his recovery from cancer. He was joined with local youngster Mike Crocker and together the two them looked set to bat for a long time. Unfortunately Mike Crocker edged a delivery to gully for 10 and Walker was caught after a well played 26. Tom Jenkins was joined by skipper Shane Burger and High Wycombe would have been very happy with their start, even more so after removing Burger for only 7 after he edged a ball to the wicket keeper. Middlesex star Gareth Berg joined Jenkins at the crease and no one expected what was about to happen. A record 4th wicket stand of 210 was the outcome after Berg and Jenkins played the most entertaining of innings, it was an innings which included great stroke play along with exceptional running between the wickets. Berg's innings was flawless and it was obvious for everyone to see that he has been playing good cricket for Middlesex as well as Radlett. Jenkins rode his luck in the beginning of the innings but was eventually dismissed for a very well played 121, his maiden HCPL hundred. Congratulations to the two of them for the record 4th wicket partnership and helping Radlett to a massive score of 346 for 8 dec after 64 overs.

Many would have thought that 346 was far to much for Wycombe to chase and a declaration should have happened earlier but skipper Burger said " You never quiet know what is a good score at this ground, we always get Nick Searle our groundsman to prepare quality pitches and the outfield was lightning fast!"

Burger and Berg opened the bowling for the Cobden Hill outfit but could not penetrate as the track seemed to be playing better and better. The first wicket only fell after Heath Paynter was introduced to the attack. Radlett would have been happy when they had a superb run out just before the tea break to give them good momentum going into the break. Paul Barker picked up the other 2 Wycombe wickets. Wycombe batted extremely well and edged their way to 264 for 4 off their alloted 56 overs. A draw was probably a true reflection of the game but the day will be remembered for the innings of both Gareth Berg and Tom Jenkins.
