Match report Radlett got off to an uneasy start losing 2 wickets in the first 4 overs but some good strokeplay from Tanika meant that we put on more than we lost and were 204 at this point. The next 2 pairs also lost 2 wickets each and the score edged up to 222 before Helen and Emma came in as the last pair and played very sensibly to end our innings on 237.
Then we really came into our own and put on as fine a display of tight bowling and spectacular fielding as you will see in any under 9 game.Helen opened the bowling with Alex ,taking 1 wicket and conceding just 7 runs from her 3 overs. Alex also bowled well and took 1 wicket for 11. Malika, Sumita and Emma also bowled well taking another 2 wickets between them . The next bowler was Laura,playing in her first ever game and what a revelation! She bowled quickly, with good line and length, conceded just 4 runs and was very unlucky not to take any wickets. Tanika finished Old Owens innings off in her usual reliable fashion helped by a fabulous catch from Malika, allowing them to score just 2 runs in the last over when they needed 11 to win. Saloni was exemplary behind the stumps as usual taking 1 catch and letting no byes past. We may be the only team in the league that doesnt need a fine leg! Old Owens ended on 229 giving Radlett girls their 3rd win of the season out of 5 games played.
