Radlett CC 4th XI v Tewin on Sat 28 Aug 2004 at 1:00
Radlett CC Won 34 runs

Match report This was a good victory against a Tewin side much better than their low league position suggested. Jamie Wells was unsure whether to bowl or bat first on a soft pitch, but Tewin made his mind up for him by winning the toss.

As so often this summer Radlett battled successfully to build a decent platform. This time Charlie Randall held the innings together with 69, worth more in view of the rain-affected outfield. Mark Evans and Matt Bell added determined assistance in the main partnerships. Both their departures were unfortunate as Evans was sent back and run out from point, and Bell perished to a sensational catch at long-on, the fielder sticking out a hand at the right moment.

Meepagama found this pitch ideal for his medium swing and cut, and Tewin quickly found themselves four wickets down, with Wells and Bell holding snappy slip catches. The in-form Evans kept up the pressure and, though Tewin's tail wagged, Radlett held the aces. Randall's left-arm spin finally settled the issue.
