Match report After winning the toss and electing to bat, Parkfield made the most of some below par bowling from the Radlett attack. Meepa and Menzies battled hard to restrict the total, and both picked up 3 wickets in mammoth spells of 19 and 17 overs respectively. 249-6 on a green and somewhat under prepared wicket, was always going to be a big ask.

In reply, Paul Windmill led an almost single handed charge towards Parkfields total. He played some brutal shots and showed great courage, several times wearing the ball on his body rather than offer any chance of his wicket. Some unfortunate umpiring decisions and some aggressive bowling saw a collapse, and once Windmill had departed for an excellent 87, any thoughts of victory had disappeared. Matthew Bell bravely returned to the crease after top edging a bouncer into his face, but unfortunately he and captain Wells were unable to bat out the remaining 7 overs for the draw.

This Radlett side may have come away from the game on the losing side, but confidence and spirit remains high. The 10 hard earned points from this game ensures that we remain third and with a little more luck and some more innings like Windmills, we will prove a hard side to dislodge from a promotion slot.
