Match report A hastily arranged friendly, at the fabulous surroundings of The Rowley Lane Sports Ground, after Daniel's midweek teams opponents cried off ended up as a convincing win for a young Radlett side which included guest fielder Brendan "Howay the lads" Jones.

A win of this magnitude is always a good sign but special mention must go to Ben Charles who scored a magnificent 80 not out, with some clean hitting, pulling and cutting and even outHirsching Hirsch!!!

The evening started in bright sunshine with the opposition skipper stuck in traffic in rainy Mill Hill and it was agreed Radlett would bat first. The Joshes batted with Hirsch reminding us what he is capable of but it lasted too short a time, as he holed out to mid on. This brought the Chrles boys to the wicket with Meryl hoping they would talk to each other, and not try and run each other out.

Josh played some lovely shots and as he gets stronger he will become a very good player, but Ben started slowly and grew and grew in confidence as mentioned above. They put on 54 runs together in quick time but Joshes demise only raised Bens temperature as he smasjed his way from 48 to 68 in 7 balls. Harry and Daniel tried to hit out and give Ben the strike but failed! Harry fell to a very good catch and ball. Simon and Ben finished the innings with some strong running to get us to 141 in 20 overs.

The bowling was tight and strong with all players other than Indiana Jones getting a bowl and Daniel snaring 3 and nearly getting a hat trick, Shameel spinning his web and Josh McFarlane continuing his supreme form with 3 - 8.

The fielding was good even allowing for a couple of dropped catches and Josh Charles thinking he was a gymnast!!!

A good win against an opposition we would expect to beat but who played the game in a very good spirit and cheered when Daniel was out!!!

Thanks go to Andy and Meryl Charles for their continued support, Andy for umpiring, Indiana for helping us out and Meryls Dad for nicking her sweatshirt!!

We will try and arrange a further game gainst this opposition for our Under 14's.

Funniest moment seeing Josh Hirschowitz and Josh Charles running a single, Hirsch in 6 strides Josh C in 25!
