Match report A disappointing batting performance sealed Radlett's fate. Radlett looked to have bowlers with proper actions;all the lads bowled at a decent pace but inaccurately.Unfortunately, that made it easier for Shenley's powerful batsmen to strike boundaries and we fed their predeliction for the pull with a barrage of half trackers.Apart from their first two pairs,however,Shenley did not seem to have much quality.However, we donated 13 in byes and 28 in wides and no balls.We just cannot afford to be this generous and it is not a fair reflection of the bowling talent we have.Aneesh took a fine running catch and George and Freddie were most accurate-but this is relative.It has been a while since a Radlett team had noone with an economy rate of less than 5 an over.

The batting was flat.I think the pressure of chasing got to the boys and we will have to get the Boycott blocking tendency out of a few of them!Shenley's bowling was poor and hard to hit. In all honesty I wouldn't take a single of their bowlers over any of ours. It's a shame that we simply didn't play enough attacking shots.Bobby was the honourable exception with 12 runs but I imagine a few of the lads will be very frustrated when they reflect on the number of easy runs they passed up.

A sound defeat then but I hope the boys can learn from this.
