Match report I have been accused of producing grumpy match reports. So let's get it over with early in the report.
Extras.The boys promised no more than 10 wides or no balls. There were 18.
Catches.Two drops that Geoff Boycott's Granny could have caught in her pinny,WITH her eyes closed.
Fielding.Good grief-best not go there before the grumpiness goes off the scale.
LONG BARRIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the good news.If we win the last two games we can finish second and worm our way into the finals.The bad news-if we keep on bowling and fielding like this we will be soundly thrashed.
Tonight we won easily.After a poor first 9 overs during the course of which Frogmore's best batsman on the night was given two lives the boys picked up their game with Alex Shorthose in particular fielding sharply.Giles bowled a good spell as did Will ,Harry and Fergus.Simeon got a good caught and bowled.Frogmore finished on 79-8.
Frogmore were much better than Radlett in one respect-they only conceded 7 wides and no balls. They also had a much stronger team out than last time and bowled tidily but the run chase was without any major alarms albeit a bit sedate.Joe went for his shots and hit 18 swiftly before perishing to an undignified swipe across the line.Jaimin fell to a good catch in the deep but Rikhil remained steadfast to see it through with a gutsy 23 not out off 17 overs.
So, an 8 wicket win but still there is a lot of room for improvement.The fielding must improve.
