Match report Dunstable 2s won the toss and elected to bat on what appeared to be, and turned out as, a fine batting wicket. Early inroads were made by Heath Paynter and Simon Gray with a wkt apiece, backed up by a superb run out effected from the covers by James Lewis. A grinding recovery from the dunstable middle order, featuring 2-hours worth of monumental blocking by the number 3 bat dictated that the middle overs were a consolidation period, with the majority of bowling being done by the 2 spinners Prabhu Arumugam and David Hegarty who were not only miserly but weighed in with a wicket each. But it was the return of the seamers Gray and Paynter that saw Dunstable collapse from 181-5 to 191 all out in double quick time as the tail were ruthlessly dealt with.

In reply, David Robinson anchored the chase with 87 not out and the acceleration was provided by James Lewis who played a fine cameo innings of 60 off just 45 balls, coming to the crease after 3 early dismissals with just 55 on the board. Arumugam joined Robinson to see Radlett home comfortably, a win that consolidates 2nd place in Div 2 ahead of the eagerly awaited clash with table topping Harpenden next week.
