Match report Radlett remain deep in the relegation mire after defeat at Reading on Saturday left them just nine points off the foot of the Division One table.

Batting first on a batsman's pitch, the home side cruised past the 300 mark for the loss of just six wickets before declaring with five overs remaining.

Shane Burger was the most effective of Radlett's bowlers, taking 3 for 64 while Haydn Smith chipped in with two for 50.

Radlett's reply got off to a disastrous start with both skipper Nick Fielden and Steve Lowe falling early before the middle order steadied the ship. Haydn Smith added to his wickets with a top scoring half century before being clean bowled on 56, while Matt Evans (36), Brenden Hutchings (33), Shane Burger (39) and Jim Chaudry (33) all failed to build on good starts.

Radlett did manage to get within 40 runs of the daunting total but it proved too much as the final wicket went down in the 53rd over.
