Match report Radlett travelled to fellow strugglers Potters Bar on Saturday knowing that they needed a good performance and preferably, a victory to set their season on its way. Unfortunately they fell short of doing that with Potters Bar blocking out for a draw, Radlett unable to secure the 10 wickets required for a victory.

Earlier in the day, the Bar had won the toss and elected to have a bowl at Radlett’s batsmen and for once, the Cobden Hill outfit had a reasonably solid start. Matt Evans returning to the starting line-up was a factor in the good start of 60-0 off the opening overs. Nick Fielden was then unfortunately stumped for 27 and Evans soon followed for 22. With Smith and Burger soon back in the pavilion, it looked a familiar story for Radlett this season.

However, Radlett fought back with a fantastic 5th wicket partnership between Stephen Lowe and Graham Dill. They put on 120 before Lowe was dismissed for 69. Dill carried on to reach 63 and Jim Chaudry added some fantastic impetus at the end of the innings, crashing 56 not out off 35 balls.

Radlett began well with the ball, Burger and Browne claiming 2 quick wickets each to leave Potters Bar reeling at 50-5. Skipper Jarred Norman played an assured knock at number 6 however and he was to prove the sticking point for Radlett who were left frustrated. Potters Bar never made a serious challenge for the runs and ended up 100 short and 6 down. Burger 3-49 and Browne 2-43 were the pick of the bowlers. Radlett collected 12 points to go level 8th with Oxford who they face this week.
