Radlett CC 1st XI v Shenfield on Sun 11 May 2008 at 1.00 p.m.
Radlett CC Won by 1 wkts
Radlett snuck past Shenfield to reach the 2nd round of the Evening Standard Trophy on Sunday. All the bowlers bowled well though Simon Jackson was particularly effective on a pitch that offered good carry and he fully deserved his 5-29. Kabir Toor, Paul Barker & Rob Crocker all bowled well and Radlett probably should have restricted Shenfield to less than 221 but for some sloppy ground fielding and catching. Luthra again impressed with the gloves however and he looks a fantastic prospect.
The run chase was a strange affair where the run rate was never an issue but after Kabir and Lewis had got off to a rapid start, Radlett seemed to struggle to come to terms with some of the Shenfield spin bowling and it was left to Nick Fielden and Heath Paynter to really get the home side over the line.
They will need to improve all aspects of their game to get past Tring Park in the next round.
