Match report Radlett collapse to Tring

Felix walker starred for Radlett claiming 7 - 49 in 18 over's. Unfortunately he was not backed up by the batting when his side crashed to a 37 run defeat to Tring.

Earlier in the day play was delayed due to rain and it was only until after lunch that Radlett skipper Shane Burger won the toss and decided to bowl in seamer friendly conditions. The decision seemed to be a good one as Radlett's bowlers got stuck into the job at hand, but it wasn't until the introduction of Felix Walker to claim the first wicket in his very first over. Burger claimed the next 2 victims and then it was down to Walker to destroy the Tring line up bowling with fantastic control and swing. Tring's innings came to an end when Paul Barker had the Tring number eleven caught at cover and the total was 124.

Radlett would have been very happy chasing 124 on a wicket that produced 1400 runs in a 3 day County game during the week. The innings got off to a bad start losing James Lewis when he got caught behind and Atul Sachdeva was soon to follow just before the tea interval. After tea Tring could not have wished for a better start when they trapped Shane Burger in front of the stumps for 0. Steve Lowe and young Middlesex star Kabir Toor looked comfortable and in command at 63 for 3 until Lowe edged a turning delivery to slip. Toor was soon to follow when he was run out at the non strikers end, the innings would not last much longer after that as the tail fell quickly to Tring's professional Keith Dutch. Radlett were bowled out for a disappointing 87.

Burger said after the game "It is obviously very disappointing when you have bowled and fielded really well to restrict a team to 124, our batting was just not good enough and we will need to raise our game if we want to get back in the running for the top spot."
