Radlett CC 1st XI v Abbots Langley on Sun 13 Jul 2003 at 1:00
Radlett CC Won 5 wickets

Match report Radlett cruised into the last 8 of the Hertfordshire Becker Trophy with a relatively comfortable 5 wicket win over Abbots Langley at Cobden Hill on Sunday. Abbots had won the toss on a good batting deck and got off to an absolute flyer against Radlett's seamers and at 80-0 it looked as though a big total was on the cards for the visitors.

However the introduction of Spinner Haydn Smith and Medium-Fast left armer David Hegarty changed all that. Smith (3-25) and Hegarty (2-29) ripped the heart of Abbots' batting line up as they were bowled out for 190.

Radlett's in form openers, Nick Fielden & Nick Hampton got off the a cracking start and the score was past 100 before Fielden fell lbw for the second time in two days for 47. Though Hampton fell for 65 not long after, Freedman with 36 not out saw Radlett home. Radlett face Old Millhillians in the next round.
