Match report I have to say I am writing this match report on a high as we have just beaten Old Owens to qualify for the County Final.

I must firstly start by giving thanks to Tim Lane of Old Owens who was absolutely superb in his efforts to get the game on and had had the pitch covered all week. Both team managers agreed that we would rather play a shortened game than have a bowl out and it was agreed to play a 10 over game.

The toss was won by Owens who elected to bat on what was a slow low pitch and had a very green and wet outfield.

Radlett had a bit of early luck when Bradley Lane was run out after good work by Roshan Baskaran and Daniel Cohen. Bradley is a destructive and super batsmen so this was what we needed. Will Van Der Maat showed what a good player he is and made a lovely 18, which is worth about 50 on any other day. Moody was caught brilliantly by Sahil Shah at mid on diving away to his right to take a fabulous scooped catch. Radlett took wickets at valuable times and held Owens scoring rate down.

Cohen, Paternott, Baskaran and Comfort bowled superbly to keep the score down, with Comforts last over going for one run and a wicket.

An impressive team performance with good fielding and good support from the boys left out.

Radlett's innings started with Letts and Hirschowitz looking to be poositive until Hirschowitz got an outside half of the bat and fell to a good catch off Brissenden. Paternott was unlubkily caught off what should have beena no ball and Nandhra continued his impressive run until being bowled by a great Van Der Maat yorker.

It was left to Basil Letts and Ben Cherkas to steer Radlett through in the gathering gloom and steady rain. Fifteen minutes later the real rain came and the game would have been caleed off.

My thanks must go to Paras Shah, Harry Benjamin and Joe Davis who were left out of the starting eleven yet stayed to cheer their mates, lend their gear and join in the celebrations. I am delighted at the team spirit shown by those three and the starting eleven.

Thanks also to Don Guerrini who once again supported me when I was getting increasingly nervous as well as Ronnie Comfort, Gursh Nandhra, Chris Paternott, Jo Letts, Lynn Cherkas, Michael Benjamin and Sonal Shah who supported the boys from the side and special thanks to Brendan "Geordie" Jones who showed valubale support. The support was great and hoefully more can watch on Sunday at Haileybury. Special thanks to Dhiresh Shah for scoring and being a special friend and support to me.

Lets bring the cup back to Radlett.

Overall a great feeling to play and thanks must go to Old Owens for their efforts to get the game played and for the great sporting way the game was played between two talented sides.
