Match report Rarely have I experienced such a feeling of joy which has been tempered by the thoughts of "there but for the grace of G-d!"

All day the weather had held off and at about 4.20 the rains came for 20 minutes. Upon arrival at the ground the game was on but the weather was inclement and dark but not foreboding.

The opposition had phoned to say it was "raining rather heavily in Harpenden" my words not his!! but I assured him Radlett was bright.

The game started in OK weather but within 4 overs the boys were running for cover, then running for the covers to run the covers over the wickets. Nick Searle at this time was drowning his sorrows. The rain came and conquered and Mike Gibb and I rang John Favager the tournament organiser who would not let us play next Monday, as Harpended could not play Thursday, we could not play Friday, Saturday we are not allowed to play and Sunday Harpenden could not play.

A coin was tossed in the ether net and I called correctly to progress us into the Semi Finals. I am happy to be in the semi finals with potentially the finals to be played at Haileybury on 8 July (All welcome if we get through), but feel a little unhappy that it came down to a toss of a coin.

Thanks to all the boys who turned up, TJ who opened the bar, Shane who gave a great team talk, Gareth who broke the covers, Don Piero for opening the core box and being a great supporter, Michael B for scoring, Manicam Baskaran for umpiring and any one else I forgot.

Hopefully 2 more games for this side and if we win the finals we are in the National Knock Out!!!
