Match report Top of the table clash at a damp Shenley with Radlett coming out on top to win an exciting game by just 3 runs.
Batting first Radlett lost 2 quick wickets to good catches. The middle order then batted steadily against good bowling, not losing any wickets and picking up runs when available.
The final over was to prove significant. A direct hit ran Ben out, but he then hit 2 fours and Alex hit another leading to 15 runs coming from the over. RADLETT FINISHED ON 249 - 3.
Shenleys captain opened the innings and played a number of fine shots, before George L produced a beauty, pitching leg and hitting the top of middle. That was followed by 2 wickets in 2 balls from Adam, helped by a catch from Ben. Shenley then started to chip away at the target, before a Caught & Bowled by George L and a run out meant 11 was needed from the final over and 6 from the last 3 balls. With fielders running in all directions and vocal encouragement from supporters increasing Shenley only managed 2 singles.
