Match report On a cloudy overcast day, this much changed team winged its way to the easiest ground on the circuit to find(or so I thought)

Our leading batsmen are stranded and being directed in from Mount Vernon Hospital, whilst we are still 8 at the ground with Josh McFarlane still playing from school and arriving late. On top of this 368 boys are sitting school exams and 1 is playing lullaby’s on Broadway.

A much changed team showed only 4 regulars from the normal A team yet those who came in showed a brilliant attitude and played a major part in Radlett's win.

Daniel won the toss and with 8 arrived decided to bat and Hardain Nandhra in his first start for the A team asked if he could open, so he did with school pal OJ Jr. Hardain attacked the Wood bowling with gusto and with Olly also scoring runs we found ourselves with a good start against some tight bowling from Smithson and Marsh. Hardain succumbed at 73 with his personal score on 47, a pity, as he deserved a 50. This allowed Josh Hirschowitz in, in the 13th over and he blasted 50 in 27 balls, in typical Josh fashion sparing no bowler from his onslaught. Despite this Jamie Edwards bowled a fiery spell for 21 runs and could hold his head high.

We finished on 137, which was about par if not a little below, but with the side we had on view, I was very pleased. Mention of Reece Egerton who scored only 4 but allowed Josh to score heavily at the other end by running hard always towards the danger end. A real team player.

Chorleywood's reply was slow and they always lost wickets when it seemed they would get going. Only Matt Grant and Ben Lloyd were able to score freely with Matt unlucky to be run out after some tremendous fielding by Josh Hirsch.

Daniel spread the bowling around and Dean Caplin in his first A team game of the season took 2 -10 and Jack Arrol in his first A team game of the season took 1-3. Reece in his first game took 1 -23 coming in for some stick when the game was won.

A comprehensive win against some smashing lads at a super ground. Its a pity we had to leave so quickly as I would like to have stayed and had a drink with the Wood boys who are a credit to their club. All of them had club shirts on, with the shirts tucked inside the trousers.

Man of the match - Hardain Nandhra for 47, 2 catches and stepping up to the plate in his first game by asking to open. Hirsch was unlucky not to win the award but he does win a lot.

Our semi final dream lives on - JUST!!!
