Match report Boy was it close but Sahil SHAH'ed us the way home

In a great game against Shenley Colts, again Radlett left it late before securing a valuable win against very useful opposition.

Radlett won the toss and as normal inserted Shenley who got off to a solid start with Matt's Stear and Evans batting well against the dangerous Radlett attack and after 6 overs Shenley were 32 but had lost Stear well caught by Harry Benjamin 3 balls after dropping the same player. Harry kept his composure well and Daniel encouraged Harry after having the drop off him. Terrific attitude boys.

Young Connor Emerton came in and batted really well until he was run out by a piece of magic from Ben Cherkas who hit the stumps direct from 60 yards to run Connor out just as he looked set for a big score.

Radlett's middle over bowlers THE SHAH BOYS made it hard for Shenley to score heavily with Paras bowling a lovely line and being unlucky not to get 2 or 3 wickets and Sahil throttled the batting with 4 overs of controlled spin and Rikin showed his class with 2 tidy overs.

That Shenley only scored 106 was due to some tight fielding and some good death bowling from Josh Hirsch and Simon Moses.

107 to win but not going to be easy against a quality bowling attack. Much depended on Stear v Hirschowitz as last year Josh scored 34 in 17 balls, but this year he was done by young Emerton, who looks a fine player. Simon Moses and Ben Cherkas went on a rescue mission playing Stear with caution and attacking the others to great effect.

At 67 for 5 in the 14th over we looked 2nd favourites but Shah enough the brothers Rikin and big bruv Sahil put on 27 to see us to the edge of a victory although Rikin only scored 8.

A good victory against a nice bunch of lads and parents who watched a game played in great spirit.

Thanks to Jimmy Stear who looked after Shenley in his Dads absence and all their parents who behaved impeccably.
