Radlett CC Won 29 runs

Match report On a sunny, though windy Sunday afternoon the U12s & U13s played a friendly match on the new Flix wicket. The bounce kept low making batting difficult though the U13s lost three bad run outs to good fielding by Neil Malde.

With John Mansell captaining,the U13s started well with a good positive partnership between Duncan Burton & Miles Mitchell. Duncan was 2nd out with the score on 39 having scored 12. Kieran Collopy came in to score a brisk 14 runs. Miles held the innings together batting for11 overs & 30 runs.

However there was a collapse, initiated by good fielding, such that no more U 13 batsmen scored over 5 runs. Fortunately, Bherav had been loaned from the u12s & scored 12 runs giving a respectable total of 88.

The U12s had to face some very fast bowling from John Mansell & Kieran Collopy. Kieran took 2 for 14 , his figures not helped by poor fielding. John took 1 for 3 runs in 3 overs. Basil Letts looked very assured & unphased, so it was a shame when he lost his wicket for 3 runs after coping well with the strike bowlers. Hemel & Neil Malde scored the bulk of the runs , Hemel scoring 10 & Neil 21 runs. However, there was a collapse at the end with Miles Mitchell taking 4 wickets, & Kailash two. Bhavick Shah kept wicket & took a stumping.

Miles was Man of match. Neil was U12 best player.

Generally the u12s played well as a team with good spirit & will do well.The U 13s were more sloppy in the field & need to work on their fielding & team spirit if they want to win their league this season.The bowlers bowled 9 of their victims & would appreciate more help from the field.
