Match report The match was played in and out of the rain, which turned bowling into a lottery, making the ball too slippery to grip, and saw fielders slipping and sliding, giving the batsmen a huge advantage.

Baldock won the toss and gained a significant advantage in being able to put Radlett in to bat on a difficult wicket. Ingram, Smithers and Paynter all got 30’s, and Haxell played a good captain’s innings.

When Baldock batted, Tricker bowled with wonderful rhythm and pace to reduce the batting side to 56 for 4 and they were in all sorts of trouble when the rain came and effectively made accurate bowling impossible.

After two breaks for heavy rain, Baldock eventually made the runs.
