Match report Radlett played most of the cricket in this match, which was interrupted by rain, and 14 overs lost. Had the game run its full length, in all probability it would have gone Radlett's way. Instead they ended up with a paltry three points for their efforts.

Tim Smithers won the toss, and with a strong bowling line-up, took the brave step of putting W. Herts in to bat. Josh Rose opened the bowling with Chris Freeman, with Paul Reid coming on first change. These three bowlers were all that were needed. After 27 overs W.Herts were pinned back to 60 for 2, and all three bowlers bowled intelligently and accurately. After 53 overs the score was 180 for 7 on a reasonable wicket.

Although some hard chances were put down, the fielding was of a high standard, with Josh Rose excelling, and Simon Randall pulling off an astonishing run out, and plenty of effort and spirit from the whole side.

Radlett's reply was initially disappointing, and the rain came at 50 for 3 from 17 overs. When play restarted the target was a further 131 runs from 17 overs, an almost impossible goal. Yet it is to Radlett's immense credit that when Teddy Edwards and Ollie Robertson were in full flight it looked almost possible. Edwards ended on 59 and Robertson 30 not out, and with support from Mark Silva and Shabbir Foyez put a smile back on Radlett faces, ending on 142 for 5 with batting to come.

This leaves Radlett second from bottom, an unfair reflection of the talent and team spirit that is in abundance in this side. A win would put things right.
