Radlett CC Women & Girls v Cambridge on Sun 20 Jul 2003 at 1:30
Radlett CC Won 35 runs

Match report Radlett Vagabonds lifted themselves off the bottom of ECB South Division One with a hard fought victory over a Cambridge team that had made light work of winning the reverse fixture last month. It is a measure of the improvement the team is now showing with 2 wins in their last 3 league matches.

Batting first, Radlett had to recover from the loss of an early wicket. Lou Haycock (25) was joined by Georgie Bore (15) and between them they set about consolidating the innings. The loss of two further wickets saw the arrival of Pippa Payne who took little time in taking the game to Cambridge. Pippa built a fine innings and went on to reach 95 well supported by captain Kate Holt (35*).

Kate had no hesitation in giving Pippa the ball and she and Nikki Little kept the Cambridge batting well in check, each taking two wickets. With Lou Haycock joining the attack and conceding only 10 runs in her 9 overs with 5 maidens, Cambridge were soon well behind the asking rate. The pressure proved too great and Radlett Vagabonds ran out comfortable winners by 35 runs.
