Match report With little chance of winning the league, I rejigged things tonight and tried to give everyone a chance to bat or bowl.We nearly managed it but Lawrence unfortunately was the only boy not to bat or bowl,the last wicket falling with him due to take the next over.To his credit he was still smiling!
Aneesh and Saul opened and put on a briskish 50 for the first wicket before Saul retired.Saul again batted very well, striking the ball very cleanly.Freddie hit a whirlwind 21 off 13 balls with 3 4s and a 6.The innings then lost a bit of momentum but we got past 100 ,which was the minimum requirement,with George finishing on 19 not out.Piers started with his best two balls of the season, cleaning up one opener with the second.Aneesh bowled well before Freddie and Josh choked the innings with 4 wickets and only 12 conceded in 7 overs.The spinners then gave it a twirl with Ben and Ravi both giving the ball considerable air and getting 2 each.Sachen then finished the innings off bowling the last man.Honorable mentions to Ben Farr who took a superb low catch at mid on and Giles Dorward who was a willing and able substitute fielder.
We still need to score more quickly and field with more intensity but the bowling was ferocious tonight.
