Radlett CC Lost 57 runs

Match report Radlett welcomed Old Owens at the Old Habs ground to play the county semifinal on a hot scorcing morning, Radlett won the toos and put Old Ownes into bat, for a short while it looked very good as the opening bowlers of Yasir and Jai had them at 4 for 2 in the third over, but from that point and for the rest of the match, there was only one team in it, and it wasnt Radlett. Southgate arrived at the crease and started to play some great shots, before we knew it he had retired on 50, and the rest of the Owens batsman kept the score ticking, with 25 wides adding to their score, Radlett faced a total of 137 runs to get, difficult but not impossible, however as with the bat, Owens bowlers were on the mark from the start, bowling good line and lenght, making it difficult to score with their excellent field positions. With wickets falling at regular interval Radlett were never going to get anywhere near the total, great efforts by Ameer Kamal 21, and Hemal Malde 16.
The boys were complaining about Owens HOME umpire, the pitch, early morning start, we could find many excuses, but the thruth is that on the day we were second best in the bowling, fielding and batting, to a very good Owens side.

No matter what happened in this match, all of the boys should be proud, as I am of them, of what they have archived this year, they are one of the most exiting team I have ever seen at their age group, and hopefully some of them will play toghether next season for Radlett.

My final thanks goes to all of the parents, that made sometime great efforts to get the boys to matches and for their support, and to uncle Tony Cohen for his help amd great humor. I almost forgot, thanks Daniel for scoring.....+
