Match report Radlett welcomed a confident Tring side, on Tuesdat night, to play the awaited
County quarter final, having won the toss Rob Watson decided to put Tring into
bat, they were unaware of what they would be facing, and it all went well up to
the 5th over with the score on 10, however after that for the next 10 overs the
normally reliable bowlers had real problems with line and lenght, maybe they felt
that Tring needed a hand, in the process they gave 15 wides and 6 no balls, the
fielding however was outstanding with Ameer taking 2 catches and a stamping,
Rob also 2 great catches, and Jai 1, in the 16th over with Tring on 70/4 and confident
to score well over a 100, Neel Malde was brough into the attack, and in his 3 overs
he gave away only 4 runs for 1 wicket, and the runs dried up for Tring, finishing on
89/8 after 20 overs with a very disappointed manager.
Basil Letts and Yasir Sayed opened the bowling, with instruction to attack, and they
did not disappoint, Basil go caught on 14 having scored a 6 over the long boundary,
Rob came in and was caught on 10 for the very first time this season, but in the
meantime Yasir was still scoring well, when he was caught on 28, by that time Luca
had played himself in, and scored 22 no. with Hasit Metha on 6 no, they reached
the target in the 13th over.
This win was all down to teamwork, they all contributed tonight and they were all
superb, fielding for the 20 overs, Tring manager was a bit quite, but congratulated
the boys on their great display, roll on Old Ownes or Harpenden in the semifinal.
