Radlett CC Lost 25 runs

Match report Radlett won the toss and batted. An inexperienced team was quickly in trouble against some steady Shenley bowling. Hersil Lakhani was an effective sheet anchor, but runs were hard to come by against sharp Shenley fielding. George Wickham did a good job of propping up the tail and would have scored more but for some excellent Shenley ground fielding. Despite the loss of one of the openers to Tom Porteous, Shenley scored steadily with excellent opportunistic running between the wickets. Porteous added 2 further wickets with some accurate medium pace, while Miles Cox also bowled well at a lively pace. Some promising bowling also from newcomer Jamie Ronald and Niraj Thakrar. Special thanks to Mark McFadden who turned up and played despite a back injury preventing him from batting or bowling - well done Mark! Good effort from an inexperienced side, but we must improve our runnig between the wickets, especially the calling!
