Match report An excellent performance saw off a strong Shenley Village side.
Radlett lost the toss and were asked to bat.There then followed the most well disciplined batting of the season against some of the most hostile bowling.The only wicket to fall was a run out off the last ball of the innings.
All the boys batted well but a special mention to Sam who coupled a ramrod straight defensive with some positive strokes to top score with 8 not out. Ben and Guy only scored 1 off the bat between them but defended stoutly against the strong opposition pace men.Extras played a big part but by not losing wickets Radlett put themselves in a good position with an excellent 264-1.
Shenley Village went for it,hitting the ball hard and scoring many more runs off the bat than our boys.The difference was that we bowled straight and picked up regular wickets.Abdullah was the pick,finding his radr and 3 wickets.Ramitha also bowled well and Guy took a fine catch as keeper down the leg side.The last pair needed 30 to win but that looked unlikely after Ben bowled a wicket maiden of big spining leg breaks.
Everyone played a blinder.Its amazing how well this team has come together as a unit and the standard of cricket they are now playing is way above the start of the season.Well done!
