Radlett CC U11 v Hemel Hempstead Town on Wed 10 May 2006 at 6.00p.m.
Radlett CC Won

Match report The strength of the Radlett bowling backed up with good discipline in the field contained the Hemel batting to just 56 runs. Some of the many highlights of a tense match set in glorious early summer include another fine captains innings from James Lawrence at the crease and in the field,a splendid contribution from Jay Lakhani with both bat and ball (see his figures above) and a quick witted stumping from Corin Breckon.

Needing just 6 runs to win with a comfortable 5 overs to spare, the Radlett side began to falter against a Hemel attack that had found a good line and length with the ball. Suddenly Radllett found themselves needing one run to win from the the last over. A brave but unsuccessful attempt at a run left two just balls of the over in which to score. Enter the hero of the day,Jared Baker, who, despite a painful leg and near histeria at the boundary from the home supporters, edged the last ball to a tiny gap in the fielding and ran for victory.

Marvellous stuff!
