Match report Despite the conditions, 22 men braved the English summer to battle it out for the pleasure that is social cricket.

The game was won by a strong Radlett team put together, and skippered superbly by George Copley.

Despite a slow start, Radlett soon got into their stride with some strong hitting from Muhammad, Shane, Mike and Ashley. All of the Radlett team were called out to the middle as a they posted a total of 156.

In reply, Edge Grove bravely faced the elements and the vicious Radlett bowling attack, with Dooms pounding in off 4 paces trying to find the edge to keep his 6 slip fielders in the game!

Under relentless pressure and darkening skies the Edge Grove batsmen were always going to find going tough, but the question was could Radlett finish the games before the heavens opened?!?

The final Edge Grove wicket fell with the score on 89, a brave chase given the conditions. A good all round perofrmance from the Radlett side, and some fine figures with the ball from George, Mike, Shane, Tizz and Ash.

Thanks to everyone who made themselves available to play, Dom for arranging the bar, Gay for the food, Nick for the strip and the players for their spirit and speed with the covers (we beat the rain by a matter of seconds!)

We look forward to welcoming Edge Grove back next year.
