Match report This was a game that was deeply unsatisfying for both sides, played in, and ruined by, the wet weather.

To state the obvious, it was cold , the ball greasy and difficult to control, and the pitch similar to playing on a large green omelette.

Both sides could could claim moral victory, but while conditions were comparatively dry Radlett's bowlers held sway, with Brian Dummer producing some spectacular deliveries, and Jaganathan with his metronome-like delivery, who bowled all through. They took four wickets each, and dismissed Knebworth for 140. This was something of an achievement for Knebworth, having been 60 for 5.

After tea, Radlett lost two quick wickets, and were 6 for 2, but stability was provided by Dom Ingram and Mike Crocker, whose excellent technique stood him in good stead. Knebworth bowled very well, with assistance from the wicket, which by now was so slow it was going backwards, and Radlett finished on 50 for 3 when the rain came.

So the game mercifully finished, and we could get to watch Munster win the Heineken Cup on Knebworth's huge 19 inch wide screenerama TV. We were told that the reason for the rain was because of the drought, which sums up the logic of the day that was 20th May 2006.
