Match report Another convincing win for us today will put us on top the group together with Langleybury or Berkhamsted depending who have won.
It was vital that the game is not cancelled as the weather forecast was bit out of favour but fortunately for us it didn't rain.
Captain of the day Neo called it wrong but the opposition put us on bat first which is what we thought of doing anyway had we won the toss.
Neo and Josh open and batted superbly. Faultless batting put us 19 runs against a very good bowling and committed fielding by Watford Town, but good shot selection and not giving the wickets away, good running between the wickets gives us the solid start we needed.
Mipham and Sid come in as the 2nd pair and Mipham is the aggressor and Sid is more of a watchful spectator. However Mipham lost his wicket, 10 runs from his bat and 10 more extras we are 235 after the 8th over.
Oli and Sayef come in and the gift continues as we benefitted by another 10 extras. Sayef lose his wicket but manage to come back and Oli end up with 12 runs not out - top scorer for Radlett. We are 260 after the 12th over.
Christian and Bruno just needed to build on top of what was already enough. They both played with cultured straight bat and as a result didn't let any ball go pass to disturb the wicket. Final score is 277 after the 16th over.
In reply Watford Town manage only 10 runs during our opening 4 over spell by Josh and Neo. Josh strikes in his 2nd and bag the first wicket for Radlett by hitting the middle stump.
Neo offered the ball to Oli and Mipham and even though Watford only manage 5 runs off the bat, we gave away too many extras and they clawed back a bit and end up with 228 after the 8th over.
Then enter Sid and Bruno. Bruno gets 3 wickets in 2 over spell, brilliant catch by Sid in square leg and diving catch by Mipham in Mid-on followed by bowled set us in winning position and it is now only a formality. Watford town are 231 after the 12th over.
Sayef, Josh and Neo takes the responsibility to finish the job and Watford send in their best batting pair to put up a fight. Watford batsman Rob scoring 17, the highest of the day gave them a glimpse of hope but 2 good over from Sayef and Josh getting their wicket keeper out means they only manage to score 248 runs after the 16th over.
A very good performance by Radlett. 3 wins out of 3 is not surprise but expected if we want to go the distance.
The challenge lies ahead as we would face much stronger opposition in coming weeks. Its pleasing to see that we know our weaknesses but don't be hard on yourself for one misfield or gave one wide - it happens. Let’s forget and remember to do things right next time.
It was good all round performance by every single player. However Josh stood out for his batting, bowling and sharp fielding and awarded him the MAN OF THE MATCH.
