Match report Another win and up to 3rd in the League.

After losing the toss and being asked to field, the II’s didn’t waste any time in making inroads into the Ampthill Town lineup, with Grant and Brownie reducing the opposition to 23-5. Ampthill’s captain along with their wicketkeeper then staged a mini-recovery with a partnership of 41, before Sandeep Gulati bowled both, leaving Brownie to clear up the tail and finish with a 2nd consecutive 5-wicket haul, this time conceding only 28 off 14.1 overs. Ampthill were bowled all out for 77 in just 29.1 overs.

With tea not ready, the II’s went straight out to bat. The innings started off at a fast pace, with 17 being taken off the 1st 3 overs, but then 4 wickets fell in quick succession leaving the home side wobbling at 34-4. Some big hitting from John Barr took the score up to 69 in the 9th over, before he was bowled. Brandon Lewis then joined the captain and they scored the remaining runs to win by 5 wickets and within 3 hours!

A great 1st ½ and despite some poor shot selection, a 2nd win in a row, with another excellent contribution from Brownie.
