This was a solid victory off the last ball. Radlett were a little erratic with their bowling initially & both Redbourn openers retired early on 25. After 2 wides, Dhylan Baskaran bowled a good line & ended with bowling figures of 2-28 which at 9 runs an over kept the scoring in check. Mattt Soffair Bowled relatively economically & Neel Malde was unlucky not to take a further 2 wickets in his over. Redbourn scored a reasonable 156-4 which is 13 runs an over. We needed a couple of batters to retire & face our full complement of 12 overs.
We started well but Khan then bowled 2 quality overs of Yorker length.Matt Soffair survived an LBW shout only to then be runout after the ball hit is pads again. Morgan Stanley came in & scored a six . We had a 29 run over & then were ahead of the run rate.
Hemal Malde & Morgan both retired but then Neel Malde was run out for 0 . Dhylan Baskaran scored a useful 19 & his partnership with Roshan saw us occupy the crease & take advantage of wides & no balls. Their spinner, Dobson gave the ball a lot of flight & turn & slowed the scoring dramatically only going for 20 runs. The last 2 overs saw the return of our openers & we were favourites to score the 25 runs needed. However Redbourn made us fight to the wire & we were still 1 run behind before Hemal hit the winning runs. Another good bit of captaincy by Morgan Stanley has seen him win both his last 2 matches as captain. Our batting was calm, though Redbourn did miss a couple of easy run out opportunities.
