Match report On a beautiful Summers evening, with the larks high in the sky the swallows smoothly making their way home and the crickets chirping, Radlett Under 13's entertained St Albans on the lower ground at Cobden Hill.

Mountains have been moved, mountains have been made out of molehills, ants carry 26 times their own weight but could we move the covers from the pitch (eventually is the answer). Nick S - PLEASE GET THESE OFF PRIOR TO THE GAMES WITH THE TRACTOR AS MY ARMS ACHE PUSHING THE BROKEN ONE!!!!!!

As this was a friendly game, it was agreed to play 12 a side (apologies to Kavi Kamal but I have no room for his figures) and we even allowed St Albans to play their 13th man.

Jack Arrol lost the toss and we batted. Basically the innings started slowly with normal opening bowlers Jack Arrol and Daniel Cohen opening the batting with the other main bowler Roshan Baskaran batting 3. The innings developed mainly due to wides and no balls and we retired a few batsmen so everyone could bat. Simon Moses came in with 2.5 overs to go and smashed 20 before being run out off the last ball. 123 was competitive we thought, but we needed to keep it tight in the fields.

As we had reversed the batting so we did with the bowling with normal wicket keeper Anuj Amarshi opening the bowling and producing a snorter to dismiss the opener. Not to be outdone Simon Moses did the same thing next over to dismiss the other opener leaving STALLY's at 4-2.With the last ball of the 6th over Joseph Davis took his first wicket for the club. I had to look up as the celebrations were as great as when Australia won the cricket world cup!!!!The 8th over brought Sahil Shah to the bowling crease with shades of Shenley Village to follow. Sahil took 3 wickets, was denied a hat trick by a dodgy NOT OUT and could have had a wicket off each ball as 1 went so close to a fielders hand. 3-2 is not as good as 5-4 but is still pretty good.

Everyone bowled in the innings and George Veale took 2 wickets one a really good catch by Daniel at mid off diving forward to get rid of the dangerous Mukherjee (18) and the other a salmon like leap from Jack at mid off. Any one else would not have had to jump mind you!!!!! This was George's best bowling figures for the club. Well done George.

Highlight of the bowling Bherav Kakkad bowling like Phil Tufnell with his Dad saying Oh No, Oh No, Oh No. For those of you who do not know Bherav is right handed.

A good game played in a wonderful spirit by 24 boys who all had fun. This is what YP's cricket is all about. I might send the word fun to Neville Colman!!!! Next year is the time to get serious with the boys playing Under 15 and looking to play for the senior sides.

Also nice to see some spectators althought STALLY's outnumbered us 3-1.
