Radlett A travelled to Hemel for this quarter final aiming to reach the finals on Sunday after falling at this hurdle in the last two seasons. Hemel won the toss & decided to bat.
The Radlett bowlers Watson & Collopy bowled with excellent length & pace restricting Hemel to 12 runs of the first 7 overs. They were backed up by Parag Shah & Morgan Stanley & Hemel struggled with the scoring rate throughout. Hemel’s Weston, who had scored 60 runs the week before against the B’s was dropped on 16 But an unbelievable leg side catch by Luca Guerrini claimed his wicket 2 balls later & Radlett were in the ascendancy. Sam Murphy & Tom Waterton anchored well for Hemel but there was a collapse in the 17th over by Shamit Nathwani when 4 wickets fell . Callum Woods came in to hit four lusty fours & Hemel fought back to reach a respectable 90-9 .
In Reply Rob Watson & Bhavin Kakkad opened briskly, Rob Watson particularly striking the ball well & the score was on 59 wnen he fell for 33 in the 10th over. Hemel then applied the brakes with their spinners Braggins & Niranjan & Radlett suddenly needed 15 runs off 3 overs with wickets falling. Matt Soffair & Ross Pincus had a good penultimate over including an all run 4 & Luca Guerrini hit the winning runs in the final over to seal victory for Radlett.
