Radlett CC U13A v Kings Langley on Tue 31 May 2005 at 18.00
Radlett CC Won 6 wickets
Match report
On a beautiful evening, The Under 13's continued their winning ways with a thumping win over a young but talented and spirited Kings Langley side, who have the tallest 13 year old I have ever seen and a very talented 11 year old who batted and bowled really well. Radlett won the toss and as per normal asked Kings to bat.
Skipper Daniel Cohen hoped that he and Paras Shah, making a welcome return to the side, could get amongst the early wickets, which they did by reducing Kings to 12 for 3, which included the wicket of Middlesex player Sambrook who looks a good player and his height makes him stand out. Young Innesley batted superbly for a well crafted 28 before being bowled by Simon Moses. We restricted Kings to 78 in 20 overs with no wicket for last weeks hero Sahil Shah and only one for skipper Cohen. All the bowlers did well with Joel Miller surprising us all by keeping the ball on the square!
The fielding of this team gets better each week and if they can stop the silly errors then will become increasingly hard to beat.
78 never looked enough runs and Josh Hirschowitz obviously wanted to be home in time to watch England and powered his way to a quickfire 32 in 16 balls, with Joseph Davis helping himself to 31 in 19 balls, which brought back Sambrook who bowled extremely quickly and straight to take 3 wickets (all bowled) but he could not get past Cohen or Miller who was able to glide him to the boundary for the winning four.
I have to say that this was a real team performance where all 12 (yes 12) players dod themselves proud. I say 12 because the new system failed me and 12 players turned up. Yoni Cohen ended up playing for the opposition and thanks go to him for that and also to Gayle for scoring.
Although this looked an easy win the boys worked hard and deserved to win in 10.3 overs against a decidely sharp bowler and some young talented cricketers. WELL DONE BOYS
